MY SUPERNATURAL SHRINE!!

⛤ What?

Supernatural was a TV show that ran from 2005 to 2020 on CW, that followed Sam and Dean Winchester — played by Jared Padalecki and Jensen Ackles, respectively. The overarching plot changed too much over the course of the show to describe it succinctly, but it started as a monster-of-the-week type of show; While it kept that format for the most part, there was a lot more lore and stakes added each season.

⛤ Why?

For better or for worse, Supernatural is my all-time favourite show. It's nowhere near perfect, but honestly, that's part of its charm. I've known about Supernatural for a lot of my life, mainly because of my sister — she was a Supernatural fan during the height of the fandom, and is still a fan today! While I knew about Supernatural previously, I didn't actually watch it until sometime in 2021 — I don't remember exactly when, but I'm working on figuring it out.

⛤ Favourite Episodes

While I love most episodes of Supernatural (although there are definitely a few stinkers,) these are my all-time favourites! Not ranked, and all synopses are taken from either IMDb⤤ or Serializd⤤.

02.15 / Tall Tales

The Winchester brothers seek the help of their family friend Bobby while investigating a series of unexplained happenings on a local college campus.

02.18 / Hollywood Babylon

Sam and Dean discover that a group of ghosts are attempting to shut down production of a movie that they feel is mocking them.

03.03 / Bad Day At Black Rock

The Winchesters are called regarding a robbery of their father's storage unit, and track down the robbers to find the item stolen is a cursed rabbit's foot, which provides great luck until lost, and once lost the previous owner dies within a week.

03.13 / Ghostfacers

Sam and Dean decide to star in a violent, profane reality show named Ghostfacers. The show takes them to the haunted Morton Mansion, and they soon realize they're in over their heads.

04.06 / Yellow Fever

Hell beckons again when Dean is stricken with a mysterious illness that frightens its sufferers to death. Sam and Dean scramble to find the cause of the disease in time to save Dean from sure death.

04.08 / Wishful Thinking

Sam and Dean investigate when a small town's wishing well actually starts to grant the people's wishes.

05.08 / Changing Channels

Sam and Dean are thrown into an alternate universe by the Trickster where they are characters in different TV series.

Such a fucking classic. I LOVE Supernatural episodes that mess with the normal format (if you couldn't already tell with Ghostfacers, Baby, and Scoobynatural also being on this list,) and Changing Channels does it so well. Every "channel" they change to is so good. Also, it's hard to mess up an episode with Gabriel in it.

06.15 / The French Mistake

Sam and Dean find themselves in an alternate reality where everyone believes they are two actors named Jensen Ackles and Jared Padalecki, who star in a TV show called Supernatural about two brothers who hunt monsters.

07.04 / Defending Your Life

Sam and Dean investigate a string of gruesome murders and discover the Egyptian god Osiris is behind the deaths. The vengeful god is putting people on trial for their past mistakes and killing them if found guilty. Osiris hones in on Dean’s guilt and decides he’s the next to stand trial. Sam steps in as Dean’s lawyer, but both brothers are unprepared when Osiris calls an unexpected witness Jo.

DEAN ANGST !!!

08.04 / Bitten

Sam and Dean come across a home made video of three friends whose lives are turned upside down by a werewolf.

Again, I love when the show takes bigs swings with the format, even if they don't always work out. It's also fun seeing an episode with virtually no Sam or Dean! More TBA.

08.08 / Hunteri Heroici

Castiel decides to become a hunter, like Sam and Dean. But his first day on the job is a doozy when they investigate a series of murders caused by old cartoon gags.

Cas-centered episodes are always good. More TBA.

09.05 / Dog Dean Afternoon

To track down a killer, Dean uses a spell which allows him to speak with the only witness, a German Shepherd. However, he soon discovers that everything is going to the dogs when the spell starts making him act like a canine as well.

09.07 / Bad Boys

Sonny, a man who runs a boy's home, calls Dean for help after a mysterious death. When Sam wonders how his brother knows Sonny, Dean explains that he spent two months at the boy's home when he was 16, after being arrested for theft.

GODDDD this episode makes me feel so many emotions. More TBA.

11.04 / Baby

Sam and Dean's road trip to fight monsters and demons, seen entirely from the Impala's perspective.

11.08 / Just My Imagination

Sam is shocked when his imaginary childhood friend, Sully, makes an unexpected appearance. Sam tries to understand why he is seeing Sully now. Even more surprising, Dean can see him too.

13.11 / Breakdown

Donna calls Dean and Sam for help after her niece Wendy goes missing. They find out she was kidnapped by a man who sells human parts to monsters in online auctions and race to rescue her.

13.16 / Scoobynatural

Sam, Dean, and Castiel are transported into the animated world of Scooby Doo where they join forces with the Scooby gang to solve a ghostly mystery.

14.04 / Mint Condition

Dean continues to struggle. Meanwhile, Sam must think fast when action figures come to life, and our heroes find themselves living in a real-life horror movie.

I love nerdy Dean so much. More TBA.

15.14 / Last Holiday

Sam and Dean discover a wood nymph living in the bunker who is determined to protect her family, at any cost.

⛤ Favourite Characters

I love so many characters from Supernatural (especially since there just are so many characters in Supernatural,) but these are my favourites.
